A statewide, nonprofit organization dedicated to citizen stewardship of Virginia's water resources, affiliated with Longwood University in Farmville. Clean Virginia Waterways offers water-related education for teachers, students, and landowners, and workshops and seminars about water resource stewardship.
A non-profit organization founded in 2010 by Farmville merchants and other residents working together to improve Farmville as a place to live, work, play and visit. It is working closely with business and government leaders to assist merchants in promoting the downtown area's offering. In addition to projects underway in several committees, the organization has held several open meetings for downtown-Farmville merchants and the community, as well as sponsoring an open-mic music event in April 2011.
